How we earn money

InternetGermany.de is a comparison and information site. It is not an internet provider and it does not sell a connection.

Some providers may pay a commission if you continue to their site through an affiliate link. That commission is paid by the provider. It does not change the published prices, contract length or advertised speed, and it does not change the price sort.

Affiliate links are stored separately from the price feed. If a plan has no tracking URL, the button opens the provider’s official page.

congstar Home and Homespot buttons use Awin tracking URLs for the matching tariff. Phone, prepaid and mobile-plan rows from that feed are not used. Other providers still open their official pages until a tracking URL is on file.

Telekom internet in Germany

If you are choosing Telekom internet in Germany, the first question is whether your address can receive DSL or fibre at the speed you need. Telekom’s published residential range runs from €38.95 per month for MagentaZuhause S to €72.95 for Fibre 1.000. We reviewed the provider’s home internet plans and found unlimited data, a 24-month term throughout and no router listed in the base price. Your exact technology and speed require an address check.

Choosing Telekom for your address

Telekom home internet in Germany is offered through MagentaZuhause DSL and fibre-to-the-home connections. The appropriate choice depends on what reaches your building, how much download and upload capacity you use, and whether you want German landline service included.

Start with Telekom’s address check rather than selecting a package by its advertised speed alone. An address may qualify for one technology or speed but not another. Once you know the available connection, compare the monthly price, router arrangement and installation requirements.

For broader context, our guides explain DSL internet in Germany and fibre internet in Germany.

Telekom connection types and plans

All Telekom Germany internet plans we reviewed have unlimited data and a 24-month term. The published monthly amounts are list prices, and availability always depends on the installation address.

MagentaZuhause DSL plans

  • MagentaZuhause S: 16 Mbit/s download and 2.4 Mbit/s upload for €38.95 per month.
  • MagentaZuhause M: 50 Mbit/s download and 20 Mbit/s upload for €44.95 per month.
  • MagentaZuhause L: 100 Mbit/s download and 40 Mbit/s upload for €49.95 per month.
  • MagentaZuhause XL: 250 Mbit/s download and 40 Mbit/s upload for €56.95 per month.

Telekom fibre plans

  • Fibre 150: 150 Mbit/s download and 75 Mbit/s upload for €47.95 per month.
  • Fibre 300: 300 Mbit/s download and 150 Mbit/s upload for €52.95 per month.
  • Fibre 600: 600 Mbit/s download and 300 Mbit/s upload for €62.95 per month.
  • Fibre 1.000: 1000 Mbit/s download and 500 Mbit/s upload for €72.95 per month.

What our review found about prices and setup

We found a single monthly list price for each plan rather than an introductory amount followed by a stated later price. That makes the published monthly pattern straightforward, but you should still verify the final recurring charge in Telekom’s order details before committing.

An activation fee amount was not listed in the plan information we reviewed. Confirm any connection, activation or technician costs for your address during ordering. A router is also not listed as part of the base price, so check whether you need to rent or buy suitable equipment and include that cost in your budget.

Contracts and flexibility

Every Telekom DSL and fibre package in the reviewed range has a 24-month contract term. This may suit you if you expect to remain at the address, but it deserves careful consideration if you are in temporary accommodation or may move.

Before ordering, read the current cancellation, renewal and relocation conditions supplied with the contract. Moving home does not itself establish which Telekom technology will be available at your next address. If contract length is your main concern, see our guide to internet without a long-term contract in Germany.

Address check, router and installation

Enter the complete installation address, including the correct house number and flat details where requested. Telekom’s result should identify the orderable technology and speed, which may differ from the maximum tier you initially considered.

The base prices reviewed do not list a router as included. Check the router model, rental or purchase charge, delivery arrangements and compatibility if you intend to use your own device.

Installation can depend on the existing connection inside the property and the building’s infrastructure. Ask whether a technician visit or landlord access is required and obtain an expected activation date before relying on the service. Our home internet setup guide explains the practical ordering process.

How the Telekom technologies differ

Telekom DSL

DSL uses the fixed-line network serving the property. Telekom’s reviewed DSL range spans 16/2.4 Mbit/s to 250/40 Mbit/s, but the orderable rate depends on the line at your address. The DSL plans do not mark a German landline as included, so confirm any telephone requirement before ordering.

Telekom fibre

Fibre-to-the-home carries the connection over fibre to the premises and offers higher upload rates across Telekom’s reviewed range. The fibre packages span 150/75 Mbit/s to 1000/500 Mbit/s and mark German landline service as included.

Fibre is the stronger fit when high upload capacity matters for cloud backups, large file transfers or frequent video calls. DSL may still meet everyday requirements where fibre is not orderable or where a lower tier suits your household.

What to confirm before you order

Review the final order carefully rather than relying only on the package name. Confirm:

  • the technology and maximum orderable speed at your exact address;
  • the recurring monthly price and 24-month commitment;
  • any activation, connection or technician charges;
  • the router cost, model and ownership arrangement;
  • whether German landline service is included;
  • the installation process and expected activation date.

If you want to assess Telekom alongside other fixed-line choices, use our German home internet comparison. Compare equivalent speeds and include equipment and setup costs rather than judging plans only by their advertised monthly price.
