If you are arranging home internet in Frankfurt, start by checking your exact building, then compare the technologies and providers that pass that check. Internet providers in Frankfurt may offer fibre, DSL, cable or 5G home products nationally, but a Frankfurt postcode alone does not establish availability. Your landlord or Hausverwaltung may also need to clarify the building connection and access for installation. The best choice is the plan that fits your address, expected usage, contract needs and full cost.

To TelekomFrankfurt internet providers worth checking include congstar, Telekom, Vodafone, O2, 1&1, Deutsche Glasfaser and PŸUR. These are national residential options to investigate rather than evidence that each provider serves every Frankfurt building.
We reviewed plans across fibre, DSL, cable and 5G home categories. Several providers sell more than one connection type, so compare the technology offered at your address rather than choosing by brand alone. PŸUR’s connection technology is address dependent, while Deutsche Glasfaser’s reviewed plans are fibre products. You can also use our German home internet comparison to examine national plan details.

Fibre internet plans from the reviewed providers include advertised speeds from 100/50 Mbps to 1,000/500 Mbps. Options from congstar, Telekom and O2 reach 1,000/500 Mbps. Check whether fibre enters your building and flat, not merely whether a provider operates nearby.
DSL is available nationally in several speed tiers, with reviewed plans reaching 250/40 Mbps. The achievable tier still depends on the line at your address. Cable internet uses the building’s cable connection. Reviewed Vodafone and O2 cable plans reach advertised speeds of 1,000/75 Mbps, subject to an address check.
The only 5G home internet product we compare is congstar Homespot & Go. Its plans advertise 50/25 Mbps with allowances of 100 GB, 200 GB or 400 GB. Unlike the reviewed fixed-line plans, these products are not unlimited, so consider your streaming, remote-working and download habits.
Ask the landlord, previous tenant or Hausverwaltung which sockets and connections are already present. A telephone socket may point you towards DSL, a multimedia cable socket towards cable, and a fibre termination towards fibre, but the provider must still confirm serviceability.
Use your complete new address when ordering and check whether a technician appointment or permission to access shared building areas is required. If installation cannot happen immediately, consider a capped 5G home plan or mobile internet as a temporary option, provided reception and the data allowance suit you.
If you expect to move again, compare flexible products with fixed-term deals rather than looking only at the monthly price. Our guide to getting internet in Germany explains the wider ordering process.
Moving elsewhere or comparing addresses in another city? See our guides to internet providers in Berlin and internet providers in Munich. Availability remains building-specific in every city, so repeat the provider checks for the exact address rather than relying on results from your current home.
Short answers for people choosing home internet at this city address.
There is no single best provider for every Frankfurt address. Start with availability checks, then compare the connection technology, advertised download and upload speeds, contract length, data allowance and full cost. Fibre may suit households wanting higher uploads, while DSL or cable may be practical where those connections already enter the building. A flexible plan can be preferable if you expect to move.
You need to check your full address with fibre providers. Availability can differ between neighbouring buildings, and a fibre route nearby does not confirm that your flat is connected. Ask your landlord or Hausverwaltung whether the building has a fibre connection and whether installation work is permitted. Then confirm the orderable speed and any required appointment with the provider.
Using an existing active socket may not require building work, but a new cable route, fibre connection, drilling or access to shared areas may need approval. Ask your landlord or Hausverwaltung before authorising changes to the property. The provider should explain what the installation requires after checking your address, but the building owner or manager controls permission for physical alterations.
Flexible products are worth checking at your address. Reviewed congstar Home Flex plans cover DSL and fibre, while Homespot & Go also has flexible versions. Availability and technology remain address dependent. Compare activation costs as well as the monthly payment: the reviewed flexible Homespot products have a different activation charge from the 24-month versions. See the guide to internet without a long contract.
The amount depends on the provider, technology, speed tier, promotional period and activation charge rather than the city alone. Some reviewed offers increase from month 10 or month 13, while others list one monthly price. Calculate the total for the period you expect to use the service and verify router, delivery, installation and current checkout costs before placing an order.
