How we earn money

InternetGermany.de is a comparison and information site. It is not an internet provider and it does not sell a connection.

Some providers may pay a commission if you continue to their site through an affiliate link. That commission is paid by the provider. It does not change the published prices, contract length or advertised speed, and it does not change the price sort.

Affiliate links are stored separately from the price feed. If a plan has no tracking URL, the button opens the provider’s official page.

congstar Home and Homespot buttons use Awin tracking URLs for the matching tariff. Phone, prepaid and mobile-plan rows from that feed are not used. Other providers still open their official pages until a tracking URL is on file.

Deutsche Glasfaser internet in Germany

If you are considering Deutsche Glasfaser internet, the decisive question is whether its FTTH network can be connected at your exact address. The published residential range runs from 100/50 to 1,000/500 Mbps, with unlimited data and 24-month terms. Every plan has the same €29.99 introductory monthly price, but the price from month 13 differs sharply by speed. Check the address, likely installation route, router cost and later monthly charge before committing.

Choosing Deutsche Glasfaser for your address

Deutsche Glasfaser is a fibre specialist rather than a provider offering a broad mix of DSL, cable and mobile home internet. Its residential plans use fibre to the home, so the connection runs to the property instead of relying on the final section of an older telephone or cable network.

That distinction only matters if your building is within a Deutsche Glasfaser build-out area and can actually be connected. Check the full address and installation status, not just general coverage in your town. If you are moving, confirm the expected activation timing before ending your existing connection.

Deutsche Glasfaser connection types and plans

All four Deutsche Glasfaser plans are FTTH connections with unlimited data, a 24-month term and a €79.99 activation fee. The advertised introductory monthly charge is €29.99 for each plan, followed by a speed-specific price from month 13.

DG basic 100

DG basic 100 provides 100 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload. It costs €29.99 per month initially and €39.99 per month from month 13. German landline service is not included.

DG classic 300

DG classic 300 provides 300 Mbps download and 150 Mbps upload. The introductory price is €29.99 per month, rising to €49.99 from month 13. A German landline is included.

DG premium 500

DG premium 500 increases the connection to 500 Mbps download and 250 Mbps upload. It starts at €29.99 per month and costs €69.99 per month from month 13. A German landline is included.

DG giga 1000

DG giga 1000 offers 1,000 Mbps download and 500 Mbps upload. The monthly charge is initially €29.99 and becomes €89.99 from month 13. A German landline is included.

What our review found about prices and setup

We reviewed Deutsche Glasfaser’s published residential plans and found a clear pricing pattern: the introductory monthly charge is identical across the range, while the later price creates the meaningful difference. Comparing only the initial €29.99 charge would therefore hide the longer-term cost of selecting a faster tier.

Each plan also carries a €79.99 activation fee. A router is not listed as part of the base monthly price, so include any equipment charge when assessing the offer. Property-specific construction or installation work should be confirmed separately before you place the order.

Contracts and flexibility

Every Deutsche Glasfaser plan covered here has a 24-month minimum term. This structure may suit you if the address is settled and you expect to use the connection for the full commitment, but it requires more care if you are renting temporarily or may move.

Before signing, check the cancellation deadline, what happens after the minimum term and how relocation is handled if your next address is outside a build-out area. If a long commitment is unsuitable, read our guide to internet without a contract in Germany before comparing alternatives.

Address check, router and installation

Deutsche Glasfaser availability is tied to local network construction and the individual property. An address check should establish whether the home is already connected, whether work is pending and whether permission or access is needed from a landlord or building owner.

The base plan prices do not list a router as included. Confirm the available router options, their costs and whether you may use compatible equipment of your own. Also ask where the fibre termination point will be installed, whether additional internal cabling is needed and whether any property-specific work could create charges beyond the €79.99 activation fee.

If you are arranging service for a new home, the practical steps in our guide to getting internet in Germany can help you plan the order and installation.

How the Deutsche Glasfaser technologies differ

The published Deutsche Glasfaser range uses one access technology: FTTH. Fibre reaches the home directly, and the plans pair their download speeds with uploads ranging from 50 Mbps on DG basic 100 to 500 Mbps on DG giga 1000.

This differs from DSL, where the final connection uses telephone wiring, and cable, where homes share cable-network capacity locally. The practical attraction of Deutsche Glasfaser is therefore its direct fibre connection and comparatively strong upload figures, provided the property can be connected. Our guide to fibre internet in Germany explains FTTH terminology in more detail.

What to confirm before you order

Confirm the details that affect both your final cost and the time needed to get online:

  • Exact-address availability and current build-out status.
  • The expected installation and activation schedule.
  • The monthly price from month 13, not only the introductory charge.
  • The €79.99 activation fee and any property-specific work.
  • Router price, router terms and compatible alternatives.
  • Whether you need the included German landline available on DG classic 300, DG premium 500 and DG giga 1000.
  • Cancellation and relocation conditions for the 24-month contract.

Deutsche Glasfaser: short answers

Confirm the live offer at your address.

How do I check Deutsche Glasfaser availability?

Deutsche Glasfaser availability depends on the exact address and the status of the local FTTH build-out. Check the complete property address and confirm whether the connection is active, planned or still requires construction. For a rented flat or shared building, ask whether landlord or owner permission is needed and where the fibre equipment would be installed.

Which Deutsche Glasfaser plans are available?

The residential range includes DG basic 100 at 100/50 Mbps, DG classic 300 at 300/150 Mbps, DG premium 500 at 500/250 Mbps and DG giga 1000 at 1,000/500 Mbps. All are FTTH plans with unlimited data and 24-month terms. The three faster plans include a German landline, while DG basic 100 does not.

What are the Deutsche Glasfaser prices?

All four plans have an advertised introductory price of €29.99 per month. From month 13, DG basic 100 costs €39.99, DG classic 300 costs €49.99, DG premium 500 costs €69.99 and DG giga 1000 costs €89.99 per month. Each plan also has a €79.99 activation fee, while a router is not listed in the base price.

Does Deutsche Glasfaser provide fibre in Germany?

Yes. Deutsche Glasfaser specialises in FTTH, meaning fibre runs directly to the home rather than stopping at a street cabinet. Its published residential speeds extend from 100/50 to 1,000/500 Mbps. Service is restricted to the provider’s build-out areas, however, so general coverage in a municipality does not replace an exact-address check.

Are the router and installation included with Deutsche Glasfaser internet?

A router is not listed as included in the base monthly prices, so check the available equipment and its cost before ordering. Every published plan has a €79.99 activation fee. Construction and installation requirements depend on the property, so confirm the fibre route, termination point, internal cabling needs and any separate charges before agreeing to the connection.
