If you need home internet without waiting for a fixed-line connection, a 5G router may look like the simplest answer. It can provide your home with Wi-Fi through the mobile network, but reception and data limits matter. The only 5G home product we compare is congstar Homespot & Go, with 100, 200 or 400 GB. Each allowance is offered with either a flexible term or a 24-month contract.

To congstar5G home internet receives data over a mobile network rather than through a telephone, cable or fibre line. A compatible router connects to the mobile signal and creates a Wi-Fi network for your phones, computers, televisions and other devices.
This makes installation potentially simpler because there is no new fixed line to activate. It can suit temporary accommodation, homes waiting for a wired connection or addresses where fixed-line choices are limited.
The trade-off is that performance depends on the radio signal reaching your router. Building materials, router position, local network conditions and the number of people using the mobile network can all affect your experience. A Homespot in Germany is therefore not automatically equivalent to a wired connection, even when 5G is available nearby.

Choose an allowance by considering every device and person using the connection. General browsing, messaging and occasional video calls usually consume less data than frequent high-quality streaming, large game downloads, cloud backups or software updates.
The 100 GB plan offers the smallest allowance. The 200 GB option gives more room for regular household use, while 400 GB provides the largest buffer among the Homespot plans compared. None should be treated as unlimited.
Check your current monthly usage where possible. If several people stream, work from home or download large files, leave a margin rather than selecting an allowance that only just matches a typical month.
The monthly price and data allowance are the same for the flexible and 24-month version at each plan size. The clear published cost difference is the activation fee: €35 for flexible plans and €15 for plans with a 24-month term.
A flexible Homespot can make sense if you are in temporary accommodation, expect to move or only need a connection while waiting for a fixed line. The 24-month version reduces the activation fee but creates a longer commitment.
Before choosing, ask the provider about cancellation notice, renewal conditions and whether the service can be used after a move. “Flexible” does not by itself explain every cancellation rule.
Homespot is worth considering when you cannot or do not want to rely on a new wired installation. Its flexible option can also be useful when your housing situation may change. The main constraints are the data cap and dependence on indoor mobile reception.
DSL internet, cable internet and fibre internet use fixed connections. They are generally more natural candidates for households with sustained heavy usage because the Homespot plans compared have defined monthly allowances. Actual fixed-line availability and performance still depend on the address and technology.
Compare the total cost, contract length, installation needs and likely usage rather than focusing only on the connection type. You can use our German home internet comparison to examine providers and technologies available for your situation.
Confirm the live offer at your address.
It can be, particularly if you need a connection without a new fixed-line installation. However, suitability depends on reception and monthly usage. Homespot plans have data caps, while performance can vary with router position and local mobile-network conditions. A household that streams heavily or transfers large files should compare the allowance and signal reliability with available DSL, cable or fibre options.
congstar Homespot & Go is offered with 100, 200 or 400 GB. Each allowance has a flexible version and a 24-month version. Consider usage across the entire household, including streaming, video calls, cloud storage, game downloads and device updates. These plans should not be treated as unlimited, so leave room for months when usage is higher than usual.
The published monthly prices are €22 for 100 GB, €32 for 200 GB and €42 for 400 GB. The activation fee is €15 with a 24-month contract or €35 with a flexible term. Confirm the continuing monthly charge and any router, delivery or optional service costs directly with the provider before placing your order.
No single availability answer applies across Germany. You must check the exact address with the provider, and a positive coverage indication does not necessarily guarantee equally strong reception in every room. Building materials, nearby structures and router placement can affect the indoor signal. Check availability before ordering and consider where the router could be positioned inside the property.
No German landline is included with the Homespot & Go plans compared. The product supplies internet through the mobile network and a compatible home router. If a fixed telephone number is important to you, confirm whether the provider offers a separate option or compare fixed-line plans that explicitly include telephony. Do not assume that a home internet product automatically includes phone service.
