How we earn money

InternetGermany.de is a comparison and information site. It is not an internet provider and it does not sell a connection.

Some providers may pay a commission if you continue to their site through an affiliate link. That commission is paid by the provider. It does not change the published prices, contract length or advertised speed, and it does not change the price sort.

Affiliate links are stored separately from the price feed. If a plan has no tracking URL, the button opens the provider’s official page.

congstar Home and Homespot buttons use Awin tracking URLs for the matching tariff. Phone, prepaid and mobile-plan rows from that feed are not used. Other providers still open their official pages until a tracking URL is on file.

congstar internet in Germany

If you are deciding whether congstar suits your German address, the key choice is between flexible DSL or fibre and a mobile Homespot with a data allowance. Prices reviewed run from €22 to €65 per month, while contract structure and activation charges differ by connection type. For congstar internet Germany, start with the address check: fixed-line service depends on the property, and Homespot performance depends on local mobile reception. We reviewed congstar’s published residential plans to make those trade-offs clear.

Choosing congstar for your address

congstar home internet offers three distinct routes: DSL, fibre-to-the-home and a 5G home connection sold as Homespot & Go. The fixed-line Home Flex plans have unlimited data and flexible terms. Homespot provides the same advertised speed across its plans, with your monthly price determined by the data allowance and contract type.

Your address should decide which options you compare. DSL or fibre requires fixed-line availability at the property, while Homespot depends on local mobile reception. If more than one technology is offered, consider data use and upload speed as well as the monthly price.

People moving into a new property may also find our guide to getting internet in Germany useful before ordering.

congstar connection types and plans

Flexible congstar DSL plans

  • congstar Home 100 Flex: advertised download/upload speed of 100/40 Mbit/s, unlimited data and a flexible term for €36 per month. The activation charge is €0.
  • congstar Home 250 Flex: advertised download/upload speed of 250/40 Mbit/s, unlimited data and a flexible term for €42 per month. The activation charge is €0.

Both fixed-line options are part of the congstar DSL range. The higher tier increases download speed, but both have the same advertised upload speed. You can read more about how this connection works in our guide to DSL internet in Germany.

Flexible congstar fibre plans

  • congstar Home 150 Flex: 150/75 Mbit/s with unlimited data for €36 per month.
  • congstar Home 300 Flex: 300/150 Mbit/s with unlimited data for €42 per month.
  • congstar Home 600 Flex: 600/300 Mbit/s with unlimited data for €50 per month.
  • congstar Home 1000 Flex: 1000/500 Mbit/s with unlimited data for €65 per month.

Every congstar fibre plan above has a flexible term and a €0 activation charge. Availability requires fibre at the exact address; our German fibre internet guide explains the underlying connection.

congstar Homespot & Go plans

  • Homespot & Go S and Homespot & Go S Flex: 50/25 Mbit/s, 100 GB and €22 per month.
  • Homespot & Go M and Homespot & Go M Flex: 50/25 Mbit/s, 200 GB and €32 per month.
  • Homespot & Go L and Homespot & Go L Flex: 50/25 Mbit/s, 400 GB and €42 per month.

The non-Flex Homespot plans have a 24-month term and a €15 activation charge. Each Flex version has a flexible term and a €35 activation charge. All six have the same advertised speed, so the practical differences are the data allowance, commitment and setup cost.

What our review found about prices and setup

We found a clear pricing pattern. Comparable DSL and fibre tiers share monthly prices at €36 and €42, although their speeds differ. The faster fibre choices rise to €50 and €65 per month. Homespot pricing instead follows the included data allowance.

No separate later monthly price is listed for these offers, so confirm the final recurring amount in congstar’s order summary. The fixed-line Flex plans carry a €0 activation charge, whereas Homespot activation is €15 with the 24-month term or €35 on Flex.

Contracts and flexibility

All congstar Home DSL and fibre plans reviewed are labelled Flex. The Homespot range gives you a direct choice between a 24-month contract and a flexible version at the same monthly price and data allowance.

The trade-off is the activation charge: €15 for a 24-month Homespot plan and €35 for Homespot Flex. A flexible label does not by itself explain notice periods or the earliest possible cancellation date. Check those conditions before ordering, particularly if you expect to move or stay in Germany temporarily. Our guide to internet without a long contract explains the points worth checking.

Address check, router and installation

Run congstar’s address check using the complete installation address, including the correct building details where requested. Fixed-line availability can vary between nearby properties, and an advertised fibre tier is only relevant if that connection can be supplied to your home.

For Homespot, assess reception where you expect to place the equipment. Mobile performance can change with local signal conditions and indoor placement, so an advertised speed is not a guarantee of the speed inside your property.

A router is not included in the base price of any reviewed plan. Before paying, confirm the compatible device, its price, delivery arrangements and whether an engineer appointment or other installation work is required. German landline service is also not included in these plans.

How the congstar technologies differ

DSL uses the property’s fixed telephone line. congstar’s two DSL plans provide unlimited data, with advertised downloads of 100 or 250 Mbit/s and uploads of 40 Mbit/s.

Fibre-to-the-home carries the connection over fibre to the premises. The congstar fibre range has higher advertised upload speeds, from 75 to 500 Mbit/s, as well as unlimited data. It remains dependent on fibre availability at your address.

Homespot uses the mobile network rather than a DSL or fibre line. Every reviewed congstar Homespot plan advertises 50/25 Mbit/s, but includes a monthly allowance of 100 GB, 200 GB or 400 GB. This makes expected data use especially important. See our guide to 5G home internet in Germany for more context.

What to confirm before you order

Confirm the exact plan available at your address, the final monthly charge, activation fee and cancellation conditions. Check the router cost separately, along with delivery, installation requirements and any charges presented during the order process.

For Homespot, make sure the included data allowance suits your household and verify reception at the intended location. For fixed-line service, confirm the technology and attainable speed offered for the property rather than relying only on the plan name.

If congstar is not suitable for your address, use our German home internet comparison to consider other providers. We may receive a commission if you order through our links; see how we earn for details.

congstar: short answers

Confirm the live offer at your address.

What types of congstar home internet are available?

congstar home internet includes flexible DSL and fibre plans with unlimited data, plus mobile Homespot & Go plans. The fixed-line range has advertised downloads from 100 to 1000 Mbit/s, depending on technology and availability. Homespot plans advertise 50/25 Mbit/s and provide 100 GB, 200 GB or 400 GB. Your exact address determines which connection types can be ordered.

What does congstar Zuhause mean?

“Zuhause” means “at home” in German, so English-speaking customers may use congstar Zuhause when looking for the provider’s residential internet services. The published fixed-line plans reviewed are named congstar Home Flex, while the mobile home-internet products are called Homespot & Go. Check the actual product name, connection technology and contract details before ordering rather than relying on the general German term.

Does congstar DSL have flexible contracts?

Yes. The reviewed congstar DSL options, Home 100 Flex and Home 250 Flex, are both labelled flexible. They cost €36 and €42 per month respectively, include unlimited data and have a €0 activation charge. The flexible label does not state every cancellation condition, so check the applicable notice period and earliest cancellation date in the provider’s contract information before completing your order.

What congstar fiber speeds are offered?

The congstar fiber range reviewed has four advertised download/upload combinations: 150/75, 300/150, 600/300 and 1000/500 Mbit/s. Monthly prices are €36, €42, €50 and €65 respectively. Each is a flexible plan with unlimited data and a €0 activation charge. Fibre availability depends on the exact property, so complete the address check before choosing a speed tier.

How does congstar Homespot differ from DSL or fibre?

congstar Homespot uses a mobile 5G home connection instead of a fixed DSL or fibre line. Its plans advertise 50/25 Mbit/s and include capped allowances of 100 GB, 200 GB or 400 GB. You can choose a 24-month or flexible term. DSL and fibre plans have unlimited data, while Homespot performance depends on local mobile reception and indoor signal conditions.
